Hi All
Regarding the talk about marketing I am in agreement with Max that each of us who are practicing constellation work has our own way of conducting a constellation - whether in groups or individually, we bring to it all our life experiences plus the unknown!
This, I feel, is reflected in the names we choose to represent ourselves in business, and I personally work with the registered name of Soulmovements, and have on my website and in my advertising material (flyers) the following...
Soulmovements Family Constellations, based on the Approach of Bert Hellinger.
I attended the International Training at ZIST this year in Germany and what I felt again and again from this incredible experience was that, at the heart of it, a constellation is about the movements within the family soul towards love, and the energy that drives it. Pure and simple.
Bert Hellinger is certainly working with so much more than Orders of Love - his work and that of other practitioners is constantly changing and diversifying.

People, certainly here in Perth Western Australia, look for the words Family Constellations, and this, essentially, is what we are working with.
I use the word "work" in referring to the set up of a constellation because for me this empowers the initiator (I like this term!) of the constellation - working with their emotions, issues, family gives them opportunity & understanding that they that have to put in work on themselves, and move away from thinking they can hand it all over to a therapist to "fix".

I wanted to introduce Family Constellations to a psychologist friend of mine and his response surprised me - "no, not interested at all, heard about it". In my surprise I asked him if he'd ever heard of Bert Hellinger.....
"No" he said
So, yes there are other forms of psycotherapeutic work using the term "family constellations" and for me including the wording "Based on the Approach of Bert Hellinger" in material for a broader audience helps to enlighten them to the method being used.

Two pennies worth, but may be of help.....

Johanna

Dear Jo,

responding to your very interesting marketing initiative, I do see
difficulties in putting Orders of Love centre stage.
Bert Hellinger has moved on from that base quite considerably.

I find myself quite in agreement with Diane,
each one of us constellators works differently yet all of us are conducting
family constellations.
To me it seems the natural consequence to individually combine the two
components in
e.g. : LoveStream Family Constellations  or Flow of Love Family
Constellations etc.
(for me it is: Souldance Family Constellations)
Personally I wouldn´t be too keen on anything that has the ring of a
franchise system about it.

as far as establishing generally acceptable terms is concerned
let me quote from a post that I submitted to Constellation Talk in July
2003 which included my part translation of an article of Jakob Schneider's.

"""I took the liberty to use the terms Constellating and Constellator,
feeling they convey the German terms Aufstellen and Aufsteller most fluently.
I further would like to suggest to use the term Worker instead of Client.
Bert Hellinger mentions in his recent book "Der Austausch" (The Exchange)
his preference for using  "Aufsteller" instead of  "Therapist".  To my
understanding is he saying  the therapist-client relationship implies an
inequality which is not helpful in the process of family constellations."""

I wasn´t perfectly happy with "worker" then, continued to look for a better
term and up came
"initiator".
For me "initiator" implies a helpful, active, self responsible attitude on
the part of the person for whom the constellator-aufsteller subsequently
conducts a constellation. Unlike a client who hands over part of his/her
power to the therapist an initiator remains in her/his power.
Wouldn´t even be surprised if aufsteller enters the English language just
like angst or kindergarten.

This is not to claim originality but expression of my support for your
initiative to reach consent about certain terms.

Hi Folks!

I wish to raise a basic issue associated with marketing.

From the research I've done on the Net and locally, I notice there's a range
of names that people call their groups or as a fall back position, call it
'family constellations'. In the absence of any progress on cohesive marketing
here in Australia, I created my own name 'LoveStream' and I know of another
here, 'Flow of Love'.  Both very good I believe.

This disparity weakens our intentions and has the effect of competing against
each other - perhaps coming from a place of 'not enough'. I know we have a
premier service and there are plenty of seekers of pain relief. However, the
marketplace is highly competitive with few outstanding (effective) methods at
present. I believe this is changing as energy works and field conciousness
progress and of course 'new discoveries' emerge. Competition and confusion of
the populace will escalate.

I know that it would support and grow the work much more effectively if we
were to have even the smallest consistency and I believe it's time to work
together, at least in this small way in the interests of positioning our work
and growing the business.

My understanding is that the family constellation method was around pre-Orders
of Love and also is used by practitioners not conversant in the OoL.

My feeling now is to get behind the energetic strength and go with our
forebear in this work, Bert Hellinger.  A suggestion to call our groups:

                       Orders of Love
                       With (facilitator's name)

This may be worth a constellation to see if there's strength in the OoL name.
Perhaps it's not very sexy, but ultimately we want to be of service to as
many people as possible, don't we? I acknowledge there will be some who wish
to distance themselves from the Hellinger name or to breakaway for other
reasons unknown to me.

We could endeavour to find or create a name that the vast majority can agree
on (daunting) and I proffer LoveStream to this end.

One other word I've put some thought to and I think would be useful to agree
on, is what we call the person requesting the constellation.  I've seen
Bertold use 'constellator' which I quite like - nothing like a new word to get
attention.  Previous to seeing this I've used 'convener'.

While I'm at it, can we come up with a different title to 'workshop' I use
'group'.  How about 'growshop' 'shiftshop' 'loveshop' 'essenceshop'......

I'd really like some feedback especially reflections of more established
markets. Did you work together? and, Do you think it would have been easier
if you had all worked together?

Your success is my success.

Jo Fenwick
