I want to upgrade my video card & have a question. I have a Compaq Presario
model 7110US running Windows XP. The current video card installed is a 64MB
SDR nVIDIA GeForce2 MX with TV-Out AGP graphics card. I would like to
install something with more RAM onboard but I'm worried about what my PC's
old motherboard can support.
I emailed Compaq/HP and was told the following, "The motherboard of your
computer is designed in such a way that the AGP slot on it can support 4x
AGP card only. Therefore, it is recommended not to use higher than 4x AGP
card
for upgrading it." Does this mean that if I buy a video card that runs at
4x OR 8x I'll have problems?
Where is a good place to buy an older video card that my PC will be able to
support?
