Not sure what you mean David ?
You have to activate XP, either online or by phone and I don't know if MS
would require re-activation after install Service Pack 2, but it should be
simple enoung if they do.
If you have a valid copy of XP the rest should all be simple.

My suggestion would be ordering the CD from Microsoft. It took about a week
to get to me. This way, it's always available!
