Thanks Joe. I found thisone program ZAR (Zero Assumption Recovery). Of course it's shareware and it actually found a lot of the files. That was on the 500mb swap partition. It's scanning the primary partition which is 39gigs, so it's taking awhile. It only lets you recover four folders, and it PICKS the folders IT wants you to recover! <scratching head> Anyway, I now have a choice, what's REALLY important, the rent, paying the plumber or recovering the files? A month of two ago, it would have been a no brainer, recover the files! :-) They want $70 bucks for the program, and while I can re-aquire all the files I've trashed, re-do my music collection, which I was thinking about anyway because while WMP9 might be a little buggy, it records a heck of a lot better than previous versions! (IMO) So I guess I have a decision to make huh? :-O Thanks again. Joe! By the way, how did you get that zip file past my security guards? :-) >-----Original Message----- >From: computertalkshop-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >[mailto:computertalkshop-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of >Cuffy10@xxxxxxx >Sent: Wednesday, September 25, 2002 12:52 PM >To: computertalkshop@xxxxxxxxxxxxx >Subject: [CTS] Re: Recovering a drive? > > > <A >HREF="http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q1215 >17">Q121517 - How to Recover From a Corrupt NTFS Boot Sector</A> >> anyway of recovering >> > > > >--------------------------------------------------------------------------- >----- >Computer Talk Shop http://www.computertalkshop.com >Un-subscribe/Vacation, http://szaroconsulting.com/cts/list_options.htm > >List HowTo: http://szaroconsulting.com/cts/faq > >To join Computer Talk Shop's off topic list, please goto: >http://szaroconsulting.com/cts/other_cts_lists.htm >--------------------------------------------------------------------------- >------ > --- Look OUT you varmints, This msg is Virus Free!
