If you feel so inclined, it may be worth having a quick look at Komga on GitHub
– it’s a java based comic library that supports webp (looks like from v0.3.0).
The GitHub also has some interesting comments on scrapers – specifically
Bedetheque has no API, and apparently has copyright on their content...

The only blocker is that there's no Java library for working with WebP images
AFAIK. If Google would put one out, we could support it in a heartbeat by just
added a new image adaptor class. But until then, the server can't do anything
with the file except treat it as a binary file; i.e., it can't get metrics on
the file or return it as supported content.

A redditor was asking about WebP support in CX.
I’m sure it’s been raised and discussed, but I can’t find anything on GitHub,
or the freelists archive.
Any chance you could remind me of the outcome, or point me at the discussions?
Apparently there is another java based comic library on development that
supports the format...but is younger and less developed that CX.
