Yeah, I can see how that behavior would happen, how it would be have like a
latency issue. The state wiring for loading a comic is processing requests
sequentially; i.e., you ask for comic 1, it tries to get comic 1 when you
then click or do something that causes it then ask for comic 2, 3 and then
4. The state wiring is still processing the first request so, like a dog
fetching sticks you threw in order, it comes back with the first stick but
you're waiting for the last stick you threw.
I do think that this issue will be fixed when the Pages tab is refactored
to lazily load the set of pages. That's where the time is being spent when
you first go to view a comic's details. I just opened #323 [1] to capture
this requirement for the next release.

The first time I tried to replicate this today, it happened with the
second comic I attempted to open. I found I could “next” to another issue,
but as soon as I returned to the library page and tried to open something
different, I’d get the first comic I had opened.
Then a minute ago, the comic that was being opened was the one I tried to
open previously – it was like CX was a step behind. That occurred for
about three or four comics, but then CX started returning the same
previously opened comic.
The only thing I can for sure say about this is that the web address is
not changing each time I open a comic (once the issue has been triggered).
If CX freezes on comic 108, the address in the browser will be
http://localhost:7171/comics/108?page=0 – and that never changes, even
when I open comic 109, 200 or 1500.
For now, I’m putting this in the too hard basket. I’ll need to look at it
over the weekend – probably with a stripped down (comic wise) database.

So this is similar to, but distinct from, the loading issue unfortunately.
When this issue is triggered, the CX CMD window is only showing “awaiting
task or notification” messages – when the cache / load issue occurs, you
can see the load and image extraction activity in the CX CMD window.
The cache / loading issue eventually results in the newly selected comic
opening...but in the case described, the newly selected issue is never
loaded.

Remember, we already have a bug opened against that behavior? But it's the
browser caching the previous images that's the core issue: we've talked
about putting a busy overlay on the screen until the comic cover is loaded,
and having the individual pages lazily loaded so that the browser is
waiting for 20+ images to be loaded for each issue.

Meaning after a some library navigation ending in me opening GL #8, no
matter what comic I open after - GL #8 is shown. Note the comic selected
when getting to this point doesn’t matter...I’ve replicated it with a

It’s not a case of CX loading the new comic either...CX is waiting for a
task or notification.
