Your name caught my eye because I grew up in Kirkwood - many years ago.
The “team” concept, involving the inclusion of a
financial planner in
the divorce process is one practiced in California, Georgia, and some
other areas of the country. We in Texas are still in the learning
stages about that stuff.
You might contact Bob Bordett, a financial planner in Atlanta about
training. He and some of his group do training on a fairly regular
basis and they advocate the “team” approach. Bob can be

Area(s) of practice:I am a financial planner, registered rep at
McCourtney-Breckenridge. I also own part of the firm and am a
principal. I've started The Dustmann Group to work on divorce planning
- am a Certfied Divorce Planner. I am currently in the education
process for the CFP.
Any trainings in Collaborative Law: NONE - I'm looking for training in
this area but can't seem to find any. I've contacted several firms to
let me know if they will be having classes anywhere near St. Louis but
haven't received any information. I haven't seen anything from the
Missouri Bar Association either. If you know of a source I could use to
achieve training - I'd appreciate you letting me know.
What is your interest in Collaborative Law: This seems like a perfect
way to handle a divorce and I want to be involved as a financial
professional. I'm trying to figure out how to go about getting
involved.
