The American Bar Association family law section is hosting its 2004 Fall CLE
Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin beginning on October 20, 2004 with a
special, presentation on "Re-defining Advocacy - An Examination of the
Practice of Collaborative Law and Contemporary Conceptions of Lawyering" at
the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The Collaborative Family Law Council of Wisconsin
is co-sponsoring this event. (There are plenty of direct flights to Boston

The practice of family law has changed dramatically in the last decade with
the advent and acceptance of collaborative family law. The transformation
into collaborative family law has led to an examination into the traditional
role of the lawyer as advocate and what it means to be a "zealous" advocate
for a family law client.
Nancy Cameron will keynote the panel discussion on advocacy in
collaboration. Nancy practices collaborative family law and mediation in
Vancouver, B.C. She is one of the founders of the Vancouver Collaborative
Separation and Divorce Group. She has led and designed award winning
trainings in the collaborative law process, has trained and spoken on
countless family law and collaborative law topics across Canada. Nancy
teaches collaborative family law at the University of British Columbia law
school, and has written "Collaborative Practice: Deepening the Dialogue" a
book to be published soon.
Join us in Milwaukee on October 20 for this challenging discussion. And

the start of the IACP forum on the 22nd of October!
