The main link for Scientific Applications on Linux
(SAL) has been down for at least a year, don't know why.
(http://sal.kachinatech.com - down)

The links for some of the mirror sites are still
up. If you go there you can find links to other=20
SAL sites that are still up.

The spanish mirror site works so you might want
to make a note of it in case you run into a=20
broken SAL link on Google.

This has been a very useful archive of software
for Linux up to about the year 2000. Many of the
links are to very stable Unix apps which have been
around for years. I don't even know if anyone is
maintaining the SAL list anymore. But it is still a
very nice snapshot of Unix software for math and science.

For instance, here's their page for cad tools.
