Anywayz. At the first meetings we discussed "Monsieur Hire" as a possible
"classic" - Simenon - great film - perverse, poignant, a love story, etc. I
can't recall who has or has not seen it apart from Joel who has seen every film
made - twice. So I was Googling the trailer for MH, which turned out to be a
very bad and misleading piece - but also spotted nearby a site that would
screen the closing c. 8 min of the film. It is one of the great endings of all
time, and sort of stands as a piece by itself. If you are curious about MH as a
"classic" cum foreign film candidate, take a look. But realize it IS the end of
the film and a spoiler thereby.

year, but it is not clear exactly when or whether theatrical and VOD would be
in close proximity. "A BOY, A GIRL, A DREAM" looks like an interesting drama
set, intriguingly, on election night 2016.

last March at the MJFF. It has shown a numerous film festivals and has shown
theatrically for a few months. It will be coming out on DVD on 11/6/18.
Basically, it is a love story between a German baker and an Israeli man who
then dies in an accident and then the baker establishing a relationship with
the man's widow. Usually Ken doesn't like us to pursue these Oscar submissions,
but I suspect that given where it is located in the theater to home viewing
pipeline he may not be too concerned about this one. Of course, we may not want
to deal with it since it is so readily available for the home market. I don't
remember which MJFF films played at RRSQ, was it one of those RRSQ showed?

Releasing does tend to release films that feature gay themes and sexuality. I
thought that these other films appeared to be addressing stories with a lot

and audience ratings. It has been out in release since June, but there's no
