Ditto. I have long been a Value investor but now lean toward Growth investing
and shorter term investments though I am not invested in Wood's ARKK ETF.
Alan's right, my time horizon is not as long as it used to be.

I have the same outlook. Both have things to teach but in the end you have to
do what is comfortable and not going to keep you awake at night. I am a big fan
of disruption companies that are poised for growth even if they are not
bringing in a lot of cash flow. I also utilize companies that are cash machines
that can withstand any downturn. Both have their place and time. Going into a
down market, I am planning on investing more into those cash machines and
picking up big growth potential plays as they fall heavy.

I am not 100% in lock step with either, but I do lean more heavily to Cathie
Wood's view.
In undergrad and grad school I was trained in the Graham, Dodd & Cottle bible
of value investing.
Since then I have come to view it with some skepticism as the nature of the
markets has changed.
Things like the Efficient Market Hypothesis that were gospel have fallen into
disrepute.
Commissions on trades were steep and now they are a fading memory.
Stocks traded in eighths of a dollar as opposed to pennies or fractions of a
penny.
If you traded in odd lots, anything other than increments of 100 shares,
commissions were even higher.
While I favor Cathie Wood's approach, I don't view as anywhere near a guru.
I don't see eye to eye with her on crypto currencies and will take a hard pass
on ARKB, the new Bitcoin ETF.
For many older investors the time horizons of disruptive investing may be too
long out.
I know that in a couple years I will change my holdings to be focused on
harvesting dividends.
