Colleagues,
Naturalist Debbie Shelley asked me about the ID of this week's killer
whales which were seen off the coast of UCSB by the Condor Express. (I was
not on this trip, sadly).
*Orca* researcher Alisa Shulman-Janiger has ID'd this group of whales.
"They are from the CA51A matriline (daughter of CA51, with her 2 kids),
plus two associates: the male CA50B, and the female CA49C".
Alisa recalls that the Condor Express had these same whales on 16 May 2018,
and again when I was on board taking photos back on 5 December 2015. My
