Captain Paige, Joel, and Jackson were the crew. There was a good swell but it
was sunny and beautiful, and about 45 minutes out and 6 miles offshore we saw
our first humpbacks. After that they just kept on coming. At one point we
encountered a huge megapod of common dolphins and Captain Paige slowed down and
we moved along with them for at least half an hour, maybe more, while we looked
at many spouts just in front of us and enjoyed watching the humpbacks all
around us. We saw breaches, tail-slapping, and lots of splashing about from
many of the whales. They were out in force! Visitors from Germany, Arkansas,
New Jersey, Florida, and Santa Barbara, Ventura. Everyone was really excited
and happy to be a part of this amazing afternoon that just kept on going and
going. Thanks to Captain Paige, Joel, and Jackson for a great day!
