4 gray whales
An unusual day from the very start. Bright and sunny upon leaving and returning
to the harbor, but otherwise dense fog. No sea lions on the buoy, and no
dolphins the entire trip. Shortly after leaving the harbor, a lone juvenile
gray was spotted. Captain Dave slowed the boat down to match the its speed and
we stayed with it just cruising along. Made it out to the Painted Cave
surrounded in fog. Always a treat. . On the return trip, we caught up to a trio
of large grays heading south.
