AM trip: Gray Whales: 3 Common dolphin: probably 1000 altogether in
several groups
PM trip: Gray Whales: 5 Common Dolphin: again the captain guessed
about 1000 in several groups
This was a totally unexpected day for the fog. In the morning the sea was still
very calm & no wind but we were in & out of the fog. There were some wonderful
views & photo opportunities around Anacapa in the fog. In the afternoon the
fog was heavier & the wind picked up. But there were still good sightings.
The highlight of the trip was an actual breaching & lobtailing by a mature Gray
Whale!I enjoyed sharing the afternoon trip with fellow naturalist Rose
