firefighter fatality:

Cause of Death: Firefighter Holmes died from injuries received after the top
of a 100-foot white fir tree unexpectedly fell and struck him in an area
where his firefighting crew, the Arrowhead Hotshots, had intentionally set a
fire in Kings Canyon National Park.
Wake/Viewing: Pending
Funeral Arrangements: Pending
Memorial Fund Contact and Address: The family has asked that in lieu of
flowers a donation be made to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation
(http://www.wffoundation.org/) where a fund has been set up in Dan's name.
