Coach Killed in Accident Posted: August 23, 2004 The University of Illinois has lost it's newly hired assistant coach in an auto accident. The Champaign County coroner's office says the U of I's assistant football coach Yeronimo Ciriaco was killed when his SUV collided with a tractor-trailer in Champaign, Sunday morning. Ciriaco was traveling alone at the time of the accident. Three other people suffered minor injuries in the accident. Ciriaco was hired as the assistant strength coach by U of I. He had also worked for the Indianapolis Colts. Sean A.
