Hello All Visually Impaired Chess Players, The sign-up period for the
Skype_google Chess 960 Tournament is going on right now! It's not too late to
join the tournament!
This Skype_Google Chess Tournament is free. Anyvisually impaired chess player,
with a Skype account, can play. The onlyrequirement is that you speak enough
English to play chess or have someone whocan translate for you. In this
tournament, we are going to play a gamecreated by the chess grandmaster Bobby
Fischer. That is right!! Back by popular demand, is the Skype_Google Chess 960
Tournament!! For those who do not know, or might notremember, in the game of
Chess 960, also known as Fischer Random Chess, youwill start the game with the
pieces in your back row in different positionsthan normal. The random setup
eliminates the prospect of obtaining an advantagethrough the memorization of
opening lines. It makes players rely on theirtalent and creativity. In each
round of the tournament, there will be adifferent board set up. So basically,
in each of your games, your backrow, the row where your queen, king, and main
pieces are located, will beplaced on different squares. Now, there will be
approximately 5 rounds in thetournament, depending on the total number of
players. Each round will beapproximately 3 weeks long. So, there will be plenty
of time to schedule, andplay your game. Each game will have a time control of
105 minutes perplayer, to make all your moves. So, do you think you are ready
