have never used Quat so can't help you there, but the new, soon to be
released (?) version 0.3 allows you to set/change various colour
settings in solid mode.

as for the trick to make an attractor from a self-made formula, not as
far as i know. Nicolas would be better able to help you out there, but
have never found anywhere to enter self made formula, or come across
anything in the help files about it.

don't seem to know much, do I?

If you want to show us pictures, load them up on your own Webspace (or imageshack.us for example) and give us the Link!

I would find a function to made an Attractor from a self-made formula very good!
