I use Visio, the Crows Foot Database Notation  stencil isn't bad (considering 
it's kinda free)

Ben,
Have you had a look at Visio?   With the pro version you can connect to a DB 
and create an ER diagram which is great for documentation.  You can also create 
ER diagrams from scratch - you use dialogue boxes to enter details about table, 
columns relationships etc..  A long time ago I had a version that would 
generate the scripts to create the DB but unfortunately that feature's no 
longer available however this

 has some info about an add-in that you can use that sounds like it will do the 
trick.  Let us know how you go.

Hi everyone,

Is anyone using a data modelling tools like ERWin? We received a quote from 
them for $14,000 for a concurrent user licence or $7,000 per named user. I'm 
looking for something a little cheaper.... actually a lot cheaper.
