Hi Ben,

I have used both Erwin and Visio,  they both ability to do 'reverse
engineering' and forward engineering'.

I currently using Erwin Workgroup edition release 9.5. I use to generate
all my DDL scripts, indexes there and use for forward and reverse
engineering as well.
I prefer Visio than Erwin, because it is cost effective, does the job for
modeling dimensional as well relational. not complex as well.

In term of Dimensional model ( OLAP) with Visio you need to add-in the
plugins called "ADAPT' from below link:

DB and create an ER diagram which is great for documentation.  You can also
create ER diagrams from scratch – you use dialogue boxes to enter details
about table, columns relationships etc..  A long time ago I had a version

Is anyone using a data modelling tools like ERWin? We received a quote
from them for $14,000 for a concurrent user licence or $7,000 per named
user. I’m looking for something a little cheaper…. actually a lot cheaper.
