@jayadeep Backtrack is just modded Ubuntu. All distros are fine for coding. Ubuntu is beginner friendly. But if you want to explore Linux, I would recommend archlinux. Or Debian(ubuntu is based on this distro) which has more support and is a lot more stable than arch.
