I now feel real foolish. :(
I TOTALLY forgot to put SETVER into the CONFIG.SYS right.
DEVICE=.....
I forgot the device part.
The machine and display are sooooo fast 2.0GHz that the
errors in config.sys didn't become visible before the
CLS in autoexec took effect.
Thanks for all the suggestions.
Now, I hvae to convince my dad that SideKick 1.56 is
not nearly as good as a word processor, even with a
learning curve. The new machine came with M$ Works
which includes Word.
