<CT> Hiding Extended Memory

Hello all.
I posted here a few days ago with a problem I'm having getting more than 16
colours with WFW3.11 on my new 128MB PC. I'm beginning to wonder whether
the fact that 8MB of this is shared video memory has something to do with
it. Perhaps WFW3.11 doesn't recognize this fact and writes over the shared
8MB.
Is there some way to hide memory so that for example, WFW sees only the
first 32 or 64MB?
