i have both gtk1.2 and gtk2.0 installed
the pygtk version from sarge is for 1.2.

i tried to compile the pygtk for 2.0 but had trouble with the configure.

configure ended with:

checking whether to enable threading in pygtk... no
checking for pkg-config... no
checking for GLIB - version >= 2.0.0... no
*** A new enough version of pkg-config was not found.
*** See http://www.freedesktop.org/software/pkgconfig/
configure: error: maybe you want the gtk-gnome-1-2 branch?
llano:/home/widgets/pygtk-1.99.16#
