Hi,

I'd like to inform you that I released the new version 0.3-0 of TomCAD. It is
available for download at www.tomcad.org.
This version implements most features which are planed for release 1.0. It's
stability should be ok and most major bugs
should have been removed.
However, TomCAD is still a young project, so please do not expect a
sophisticated product like one of the major CAD players.
Most urgently missing is documentation. A user manual is in work, but not yet
available.
If you like to give it a try anyway, I'm looking forward to get your feedback.
Feel free to send me any bug, feature or change request.

TomCAD has been built, installed and tested on the four Linux distributions
SuSE80/81 and RedHat73/80.
Please see the installation notes on the websites download page for more
information regarding distribution specific issues.
Users of other distributions might want to choose a package with the same Qt
and gcc version. Debain30 users for example, might
want to try the RedHat73 package, as both Debian30 and RedHat73 install Qt3.0.3.
Please let me know if you have been able to run TomCAD on a distribution other
than the listed SuSE and RedHat ones,
so I can adjust the website.

Note that there is currently no package which includes files needed to generate
and compile the system
depended C/C++ libraries. Such a package is needed to port TomCAD to a new
distribution.
Please drop me a note if you like to do such a port.

Bye, Thomas
