A *displaced threshold* is a runway *threshold* located at a point other
than the physical beginning or end of the runway. The portion of the runway
so *displaced*may be used for takeoff but not for landing. Landing aircraft
may use the *displaced*area on the opposite end for roll out.

Its possible. One thing I’m not quite clear on is what a “displaced
threshold,” is. On the http://www.airnav.com/airport/KBUF Airnav page,
runway 23 is listed with a displaced threshold, and there seem to be
obstacles which it’s possible to run into.
I wouldn’t be surprised if you hit something.
THere is a section on runway thresholds in the IYP documentation, but I’m
not entirely clear on what it’s about.

I don't think this is an issue with pf3.
I'm starting to wonder if something strange is going on with buffalo
airport in fsx.
I just did a flight from Toronto to Buffalo using iyp and pf3. This time,
I didn't have pf3 controlling the autopilot. I tried to do a visual aproach
on Runway 32. Everything was fine until I was about to touch down. I then
crashed. I was at around 20 feet.
Any thoughts?

PF3 is an alternative ATC system some of us are trying out. It’s a

You obviously hit a mountain.
Are you using MS-ATC?

Hi,
I'm testing out PF3 and am having some strange issues with IYP.
I flew a test flight from CYYZ to KBUF. Everything was going ok until
the approach controller wanted me to start my descent.
I was at 5000 FT. He advised me to descend to 500 FT. As soon as I
acknowledged the controller, the flight reset and IYP told me to go back to
flight school.
I had pf3 in mode 3, which means it would control the altitude. Is this
the issue? Maybe I should be in mode 1 or 2 so it doesn't conflict with
IYP? Any thoughts?
I was flying a Cesna C208. Flight plan was generated using FSX.
