Hi Hadi,
Thank you and Robert for substantive info. I will probably put MCE on a back
burner for now, and concentrate on IYP and other add-ons.
Best,
Zack.

Hi
I would like to add a point to Robert's comments.
Before saying anything, I'd like to say that I've spent a month or two
flying with MCE and trying to fly the aircrafts equipped with the Flight
Management System.
short version: It is absolutely not possible to do it without a sighted
person logging into your computer and adjusting some things here and there.
You can however, Fly the aircrafts that does not have Flight Management
System with MCE, like IYP with a big difference: MCE will not help to control
speed and does not provide you a complete checklist and You're all on your
own.
So basically, MCE was useless to me.
Long version: I've pirated a huge load of FMC equipped aircraft and tried
flying them with Multi Crew Experience.
The one aircraft that was very friendly to use, was the Aerosoft Airbus A320.
Multi Crew Experience lets you to script all the controls, even the Flight
Management Computer. So I went ahead and scripted a fully prepared flight,
With all the information that the FMC needed for the aircraft to properly fly
and automatically land at the destination.
One big issue that I've faced however, was that the plane dropped a few
points of "Discontinuity" in the route of the FMC, all by itself. I've
asked from a pilot that what does this mean and they told me that the
computer takes a guess which the plane needs to be manually vectored, and
will drop "Discontinuity" points along the routes, where your plane will drop
out of the auto pilot for manual control.
All you need to do, is go through your route and waypoints, and remove the
discontinuity fields off your FMC screen. but That's not possible to do with
MCE, or any other tool that i've tried.
I know that a lot of you guys are very enthusiastic about flight simulation,
So I went ahead and explained about some of the things I've done in the
passed. I might have a shot at MCE but not anytime soon. I'm about to move
out of the country, and This has took a lot of free time from me since last 3
years or so. But I know I'll get back at IYP or possibly MCE at some time
hopefully. I really do not have any hopes for MCE though; Unless something
major happen in their development process, which I doubt.

MCE was designed for sighted pilots and provides for a very realistic
cockpit environment. It can also be used by BVI pilots to hear the same
environmentl sounds. The command sets, sounds and ambient noises are
fantastic. FSUIPC is not required, because MCE was not designed to manage to
low-level aircraft facilities.
IYP was designed specifically for BVI pilots and can also be used by sighted
pilots. The main design objective of IYP was to allow BVI pilots to FLY an
aircraft. Admittedly, the IYP command sets, sounds and ambient noises are
not nearly as extensive as MCE. However, and by contrast, IYP employs tens
of thousands of lines of code to allow a blind or physically impaired pilot
to control every aspect of an aircraft, including the auto-takeoff and
auto-landing of a supported plane while avoiding terrain on approach.
In summary... apples and oranges.

Jordan and Ron,
I wondered where the MCE commands which do exist for BVI pilots came from.
Were they added at somebody’s recommendation, or were they in the system
when you started testing it?
Just curious,
Zack.

MCE works okay for BVI, but the one big draw back to it is that there is no
setup for you to be able to land with it, which the developer would not
listen to me about when I was beta testing it.

Zach.
I once was a beta tester for MCE.
I left because it was like don’t call us we’ll call you and it really wasn’t
all that BVI Pilot friendly.
Sorry to ship sad news.
So far in this BVI Pilot’s opinion, IYP is the only thing that will work for
us at this time.
Ron who whishing all a happy new year.
As Robert keeps telling us all to do:
“Keep The Blue Side Up.”

It’s worth noting that Multicrew Experience, another voice control add-on,
does support PMDG, though I haven’t used it with them myself, as I don’t own
those aircraft. Still, something to consider :)
Best,
Zack.

Hi all,
So I really, really like the 737-800 NG aircraft, but its autopilot system
is unsupported by IYP, so I'm unable to say things like "make the heading 0
niner 0", or "climb and maintain 3000". Do you know if there is some way
with the keyboard or by saying ulternate phraises, perhaps, that I could fly
with this aircraft?
