[bvipilots] Yet another Newbie Question: What's the deal with the "Don't Sync" message?

So, I often get this if I do a free flight without filing a flight plan.  FSX 
continuously says "don't sync", and I hear what sound like explosions in the 
background. I've tried googling this, and I see a lot of threads about fixing 
the "don't sync" issue, but nobody ever seems to define what it means or why it 
occurs. TIA for clearing this one up.
