I haven't actually grasped the concept of fsx pilot, I honestly don't know how
to get in the air.

For me right now I'm still using IYP, I briefly tested FSX pilot but I'm now
waiting for it to go free in October so I can get it. I'll perhaps try that
then, and when I know we're a bit further ahead with MCE I'll look at getting
that too. IYP is still my primary used co-pilot because I know I can get in
the air and successfully land. Hopefully IYP will go free soon and open
source, I doubt someone will take on the project but there's always hope.
Other than IYP, what would you recommend, FSX pilot or MCE right now, I guess
MCE is still something we are working on to get blind pilot support.

Wait what? Robert unsubscribed from the mailing list? By the way while we

I’d recommend MCE because the features that are supported with P3D
aren’t supported with the BVI mode in IYP.
Plus, now that P3D 4 is out, IYP won’t support it at all probably. Then
there’s the fact that new BVI Pilots can’t get IYP right now.
I kinda feel bad for sending an email to this list getting frustrated with
IYP and making Robert unsubscribe. I’m curious what the status is
regarding the ownership of IYP, etc.

Hi Josh.
People like Jordan and myself and a few others who have been flying since
around 2010 or 2011 have quite a bit of money invested into flying.
So, yes, if you want to take the risk and let us know how BVI Pilot
friendly P3D is, I would recommend taking the plunge now.
Also, if it works, which to pick up to help out the BVI Pilot?
IYP which most of us still have installed, or MCE?
If, MCE, I'm going to miss the
1. Career mode
2. the tour guide mode.
Just my two cents on this topic.

I think this is the beginning of the slow end for FSX. A part of me
wants to buy P3D to try it to see just how accessible the interface
is, probably identical to FSX, because I haven't spent thousands of
dollars on flightsimming yet.

Problem you are not thnking of is that many of us hardcore flight simmers
have thousands of dollars in FSX and a lot of what we use are not
compatible
with anything but FSX, and another thing, just upgrade the scenery if you
are that unhappy with it. That is the major project I am working on now
with FSX.

I saw that info on Avsim.

From a software development standpoint, I wouldn't blame them. FSX is
old, let's just get that out of the way. It's a 32-bit application,
and for all of us who have usable vision, it cannot take full
advantage of today's graphics hardware. Prepar3D is still being
updated, and while based on the underlying FSX simulation engine, has
been overhauled to be 64-bit and compatible with the latest iterations of
DirectX.

Where did you see that? The most recent version as of March was
developed for both, and I would find it surprising that any company
would drop the FSX market until it dried up completely.

SimBrief doesn’t have really any GA aircraft unfortunately.
More bad news is that FSDreamTeam along with a few other companies
announced that they’re developing for Prepar 3D only. So, goodby to
any new major versions of GSX.

Hi everyone,
I just downloaded the DF7X that is supported by IYP (and probably by
MCE as well), and I have one question. For flight planning purposes,
which aircraft in the SimBrief system is the closest to the DF7X? I
want to be able to generate plans that are as realistic as I can.
Thanks,
-Tyler
