Usually the flight attendent will make the announcement about five to ten
minutes the key word here is before the ATC tells you to descend to such and
such of a ALT.
For some weird reason, Lately, both the flight attentent and the ATC are giving
you the instruction on top of one another at the same time.
You don’t get the advance notice of first the flight attendent worning you that
we’re about to land in about five to ten minutes by herself then about five to
ten minutes later by itself the ATC giving you the descending alt separate.
Is this clearer now?
If it still is conflusing.
Let me know and I’ll try to explain it once again.
good night from the east coast.

Hello Ron,

I'm sorry... I do not understand the issue.

The flight attendant is making the announcement based upon the execution of the
approach checklist, irrespective of the anything else.

ATC makes its announcement, wherever needed.

The fact that two completely independent and asynchronous voice sources happen
to occur simultaneously cannot be considered a problem. Unless of course, I
have misunderstood your point.

Hi to all and to Robert.
I've notice the following the last couple of IYPVA mode flights with the 744
bird.
usually you'll get we'll be landing in about five minutes.
Then about five to ten minutes later the local ATC will tell you to descend
down to such and such.
Well, latley the worning from the head flight attendent and the ATC have been
coming at the same time on top of one another.
I notice this on my last b744 flight and on today's b744 flight from houston
to Mexico City.
Just thought I'd bring this to Robert's attention and to see if anyone else
have had this same problem.
Now let's all get back into the air.
