Subject: [bvipilots] Non Towered Airports with PF3
If anyone is wondering how to do Non Towered airports with PF3, here is how to
do it.
Tune to Unicom and press 7 to get the weather
Tune to the FSS frequency and press 0
Wait until FSS says go ahead and possibly the co-pilot will take it from there
to open your IFR flight plan
Once you have gotten to the runway and are ready to taxi onto the runway, hit 6
to announce your take off.
After Take off, press 8 to announce that you are leaving the area.
Tune to the Departure frequency and hit 0, and you will be all set
Landing
Once Approach tells you to Squalk 1200, if your co-pilot does not automatically
do it, press 8 to report runway in sight
Tune to the Unicom or multicom and press 0 to announce your position
Press 2 to announce on down wind
Use 3 to announce on base
Use 4 to announce on final
If you are doing a straight in or ILS approach, skip keys two and three
5 will announce clear of the runway if your co-pilot does not do that for you
