Declan,
I think that if you import your flight plan, but edit it manually first, you
should be good. The thing is, the flight plan is typically intended to be flown
almost automatically. You’ll want to make sure the system is set to allow you
to, say, change altitudes.
Best,
Zack.

Would you recommend importing my flight plan into FSX pilot, it's just I've
heard that this can cause it to land at high speeds or descent rates

Declan,
You want to follow heading changes they give you. Ideally, what you’d have
would be a list of waypoints or air routes to follow, which you could use to
fly to each one in sequence. That’s how ATC would expect you to fly the
route, rather than flying direct. The exception, of course, is if you choose
to fly direct when you create your flight plan.
FSX Pilot has commands to fly along air routes in the Airac database, which
is one of the features i requested for PilotEdge.
Best,
Zack.

Hi. I have been using FSX pilot with ATC and have managed to do okay with
it, I was just wondering when they give me heading changes on departure,
would it be best to follow these or simply ignore them and set FSX pilot to
fly to my destination anyway
