Here is his reply to that question.
Off the airway means just that... you can adjust distance of drift that
triggers this under options #1, or turn the nag off completely. Once ATC tell
you you're off course it's up to you as the pilot to correct things as a
matter of urgency. If you have no idea where the airway is you can ask ATC
for vectors (hotkey #7) and they will then give you a heading toward the
airway, but it's up to you to determine when you are on track and then adjust
your heading accordingly to remain on course... ATC will not hold your hand,
just as in the real world.
