Sarah, use the 7 key when you hear that you’re so many miles off of the air way.
You’ll hear your copilot ask for a vector heading, Set your heading to the
heading that is given to you at this point.
I know we don’t get as many vector headings like we did in the MSATC mode.
I’m going to have to try my flight from KERI Erie Intl to Newark New Jersey
KEWR again tomorrow night.

Here is his reply to that question.
Off the airway means just that... you can adjust distance of drift that
triggers this under options #1, or turn the nag off completely. Once ATC tell
you you're off course it's up to you as the pilot to correct things as a matter
of urgency. If you have no idea where the airway is you can ask ATC for vectors
(hotkey #7) and they will then give you a heading toward the airway, but it's
up to you to determine when you are on track and then adjust your heading
accordingly to remain on course... ATC will not hold your hand, just as in the
real world.
