[bvipilots] Diverting to other airports

I am wondering what is the correct way to divert to a different airport. I did
a flight yesterday from Naples, FL to Pensacola. My original destination was
Mobile. Michelle kept reporting that the flight was over and hour and fourty
minutes to Pensacola when I was only 200 miles out. I was flying the E100. My
ground speed was 367 kts. I will point out that I had to follow all ATC
navigational instructions because if I tried to fly via waypoints, the plane
turned around and flew back toward the waypoint that was 176 miles away.
