I believe you need to do a complete uninstall, then install up to SP2.

I tried uninstalling the acceleration pack Tony, but then I get the
following error when launching simulator:  Microsoft flight simulator x was
unable to load some program files.  In other words, it doesn't seem as
though I can run FSX without the thing.
