I will do that, but if you don’t mind me asking is there something I am doing
wrong?

It sounds like I am not the only one having this issue!

Thanks

Hi Jody and welcome,
Hello to all,,
I am wondering if the navigation works the same using NVDA. It would be nice
if it did, so we could get to keys if we absolutely had to.
I have tried using Window-Eyes, but no help from there. I can navigate the
various screens such as free flight, missions, and the learning center. But
when I am in the game, the alt key is useless to me in accessing the in-game
menues.
Also, and I hope this is not too far off topic, but can anyone tell me why when
I alt+tab to the IYP screen that Flight Simulator takes over and takes up the
focus, covering up IYP? I checked my views, and I am in normal mode. I did get
the microphone switch straightened out by rolling back to an earlier version of
IYP, and then I installed the beta version. So, after I get some sleep, I will
make a test flight. Had some rough health and visiting doctors, but thank God
that's done so I can get back into the sky!

Best regards,
Adam

I use JFW 13.

It's a bit hit and miss but:

Ctrl+home to top of the screen.

Then, route JAWS to PC.

You should then be able to use virtual cursor to locate the free flight button.

I believe too that there is a setting within FSX which prevents the home screen
from popping up every time that the simulator starts, but I may have dreamt
that.

I posted this to the BVI forum, but I thought I would post it here as well. I
am using Windows 7, 32-bit, with Jaws for Windows, version 11. I wish to use
FSX with IYP. I currently have FSX with the acceleration expansion installed,
as well as FSUIPC version 4.80.
When I run FSX, JFW says, "microsoft flight simulator x, home dddialog." This
screen is read by JFW as though it were a regular web page in a browser,
complete with virtual pc cursor and all. There are links, just like in a web
page. The problem is this: I have tried hitting the alt key, every function
key, the tab key, to try to get into the menus where I can choose my aircraft,
select my flight, etc.
Nothing seems to work. I can't get away from this screen. Turning virtual
cursor off does not help either. When I run IYP after loading FSX to this home
screen, it tells me that the simulator is running, but that there is no
aircraft detected. I really hope there is a way to resolve this, as I would
like to eventually fly IYP virtual airlines, and if I am reading correctly, I
have to use FSX to do that.
I caught something on the BVI forum about other blind pilots who do fly IYP-VA,
so apparently there is a way to use JFW with FSX. Can someone help please? I
will paste here a portion of the opening screen that JFW reads to me, just so
that everyone can know exactly what I am referring to. The home screen looks
like this, in part:
Microsoft Flight Simulator - Home

Ok, so how do I get away from that screen so I can enter my flights menus, or
other menus so that I can choose an aircraft and then load IYP? If there truly
are other blind pilots flying IYP-VA, then somehow it is possible to use FSX
with JFW. Help please!
