The 2021 Virtual IJA Festival takes place this week, July 12-18,and you don't
need to leave home to attend. Aside from thefour master classes, the festival

2021 IJA Online Juggling Championships — you be the judge, July15, 8pm EDT by

The IJA Online Juggling Championships will take place on July 15 at8pm EDT. At
that time, we will show the Championships videosfrom the 12 competitors in
Individuals, Teams and Juniors.
All IJA members are invited to participate in the Championshipsas judges.
Competitors' pre-recorded video entries willbe streamed live, and after each
routine, members will have anopportunity to score it. To ensure that you can
participateas a judge, be sure to join or (if necessary) renew your
IJAmembership. Then make sure in advance that you can login
atchamps.juggle.org. (If you need to reset your IJApassword, go to the IJA
login page and click on "reset your password" near thebottom. You'll need to
know your IJA email address orusername.)
Note that you don't have to be a member to watch the Championships(only to
judge them).
2021 IJA Annual General Meeting, July 18, 5pmEDT by Afton Benson,IJA Treasurer
Each year the IJA has our Annual General Meeting at ourFestival. This year
once again, we're taking the meetingonline. As a member, you are invited to
attend the IJA AnnualGeneral Meeting at 5pm EDT on Sunday, July 18th, 2021.
We'rehosting the meeting through GoToWebinar. To attend, youmust register in
advance by following the steps below:

- Enter theEmail Address associated with your membership
- Check thebox to confirm your membership

You're all set! Within a day or so or registering, you'll getan email with the

2020 IJA Juniors finalist Zaila Avant-garde wins ScrippsNational Spelling Bee

ZailaAvant-garde, a Juniors finalist in last year's Online
JugglingChampionships, has a new title: Champion of the 2021 Scripps National
Spelling Bee. Congratulations, Zaila!
Zailafinished second in the Juniors last year with a basketballroutine. A
couple of months ago she posted a video showingher amazing basketball juggling
mastery in this IJA Tricks of the Month eJuggle article. She holds
threeGuinness World Records for juggling basketballs and plans to playin the
WNBA.
P.S. The ESPN URL for the above spelling-bee story itselfmisspells the word
that she won the contest with!
Virtual European Juggling Convention 2021 (EJC), July23-25
Aweek after the IJA Festival, the Virtual European JugglingConvention 2021
takes place. It's a virtual event with a live showfrom a real theater.
Registration is free, but it's required because the participantshave the right
to elect the country representatives of the EJA andto decide where the EJC of
2023 will take place. Register atprereg.eja.net/.
