The 2021 Virtual IJA Festival takes place this week, July 12-18, and
you don't need to leave home to attend. Aside from the four master
classes, the festival is free (donations are welcome). Here are some

2021 IJA ONLINE JUGGLING CHAMPIONSHIPS — YOU BE THE JUDGE, JULY
15, 8PM EDT _ by Martin Frost_
The IJA Online Juggling Championships will take place on July 15 at
8pm EDT. At that time, we will show the Championships videos from the
12 competitors in Individuals, Teams and Juniors.
ALL IJA MEMBERS ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIPS AS
JUDGES. Competitors' pre-recorded video entries will be streamed live,
and after each routine, members will have an opportunity to score it.
To ensure that you can participate as a judge, be sure to join or (if
necessary) renew your IJA membership. Then make sure in advance that
you can login at champs.juggle.org [21]. (If you need to reset your
IJA password, go to the IJA login page [22] and click on "reset your
password" near the bottom. You'll need to know your IJA email address
or username.)
Note that you don't have to be a member to watch the Championships
(only to judge them).

2021 IJA ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, JULY 18, 5PM EDT_ by Afton Benson,

Each year the IJA has our Annual General Meeting at our Festival.
This year once again, we're taking the meeting online. As a member,
you are invited to attend the IJA Annual General Meeting at 5pm EDT on
Sunday, July 18th, 2021. We're hosting the meeting through
GoToWebinar. To attend, YOU MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE by following the
steps below:

* Enter the Email Address associated with your membership
* Check the box to confirm your membership
* Click Register
You're all set! Within a day or so or registering, you'll get an
email with the link to the webinar along with access information. We

make sure to provide your above IJA information on the registration

2020 IJA JUNIORS FINALIST ZAILA AVANT-GARDE WINS SCRIPPS NATIONAL
SPELLING BEE _ by Martin Frost_
Zaila Avant-garde, a Juniors finalist in last year's Online Juggling
Championships, has a new title: Champion of the 2021 Scripps National
Spelling Bee [26]. Congratulations, Zaila!
Zaila finished second in the Juniors last year with a basketball
routine. A couple of months ago she posted a video showing her amazing
basketball juggling mastery in this IJA Tricks of the Month [27]
eJuggle article. She holds three Guinness World Records for juggling
basketballs and plans to play in the WNBA.
P.S. The ESPN URL for the above spelling-bee story itself misspells
the word that she won the contest with!

VIRTUAL EUROPEAN JUGGLING CONVENTION 2021 (EJC), JULY 23-25
A week after the IJA Festival, the Virtual European Juggling
Convention 2021 takes place. It's a virtual event with a live show
from a real theater.
Registration is free, but it's required because the participants
have the right to elect the country representatives of the EJA and to
decide where the EJC of 2023 will take place. Register at
prereg.eja.net/ [28].
