Dear sir or madam,
My name is Rowan Henstone-Sturdy, and I'm a 15-year-old student beginning the
bronze Duke of Edinburgh's Award. I thought that diving would be a good
activity for the skills category. I've wanted to do it for a long time
anyway. Being underwater in SCUBA gear is an unfamiliar experience for me,
though, so I would like to first book one of your Try Dive sessions.
I suffered with a perforated eardrum a few years ago due to an ear infection
that needed antibiotics, and while going underwater while swimming my ears
sometimes hurt mildly due to the pressure. Would this rule me out from
diving? I really hope not as I am very keen to try it. Is there any equipment
that I might be able to use such as earplugs to deal with this problem?
I also have a couple more questions:
Would my relatively young age have any effect on how the session would go?
For example, would I need a member of my family to be poolside while I dive?
Will I need to bring any equipment at all to the session?
I look forward to hearing from you, and hopefully you might let me know a
range of convenient dates on which I could take part in a Try Dive session.
