BIRD STUDY GROUP Thought BSG folks not on LABIRD would find this report of interest. Couldn't turn the Herring Gull into a Great Black-backed Gull! Jay ----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Jay V Huner <jvh0660@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: LABIRD-L@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Mon, 09 Dec 2013 19:23:13 -0600 (CST) Subject: [LABIRD-L] Central Louisiana - Fort Buhlow Recreation Area, Dec 9, 2013 Interesting list. Surprised to find the gulls and tern but all surveys have the potential for something unusual. Lake Buhlow was full of rooted aquatic vegetation - hydrilla - for a good many years and ducks showed up in good numbers and diversity under conditions like today. But, between herbicides and grass carp, the lake is no longer bird friendly.
