BIRD STUDY GROUP
I went to Lost Bayou Bottom this morning hoping to find an American Bittern but
struck out. Did find a Fox Sparrow, a reasonably hard bird to find in this
area. Still it was a nice trip - see ebird report below. I even got a ride out
from the escarpment on a Forest Service ATV because they were going to do a
selective burn and could start until I left!

I still have at least one Red-breasted Nuthatch in my yard on the east side of
Cotile Lake and a modest number of Pine Siskins. Could not detect any
goldfinches in my yard or at Lost Bayou Bottom.

Had a single Barn Swallow and two Tree Swallows at the rookery area at the Hoyt
Road Causeway on Cotile Lake's NW arm.

A list of today's birds follows.
