As I drove to meet him the temp. was 36 degrees and a light snowfall was blowing sideways across US 421 highway. He telephoned me a few minutes later and said a boat had scattered the major portion of the birds with most going out of sight into Virginia. We birded Musick's for a good period and then worked out way up the reservoir until almost 2:30 p.m. I went on to the Weir, US 421 bridge and South Holston Dam. At the dam, a Bald Eagle was constantly just a foot above the water trying to catch one of the coots but without success. A very nice day in the field. Thanks to Glen Eller who stayed in contact throughout the early afternoon. Let's do this again real soon...... Wallace Coffey Bristol, TN
