As most regional birders load their sleighs to fly
away to the Bristol Bird Club open Christmas
Party for all, Saturday evening, it will be clear
weather with the temperature down to about 32
degrees. Travels conditions will be excellent.

Look into the eastern sky and pause just a moment
to enjoy the full moon and knowing that a new breeding
season is now under way for 2012. Great Horned
Owls are on territories and very vocal. Mates are
established and they are roosting within site of next
year's nest. Bald Eagles are together at their nest
sites and have been busy carrying sticks to their nest.

Listen in the distance of your neighborhood for the
soft sound of the big owls hooting as if blowing
gently into a soft drink bottle. He is the low pitch and
she is the higher pitch. What a great way to begin
your evening with birding friends.

The Bristol Bird Club has a warm and friendly party waiting for all
and that includes you, We give a hoot, too.
