Area Birders:

This afternoon several of us had a work day at Musick's Campground.

Virgil Carr, Chris O'Bryan and I removed the last of the wasp nest at the
visitor sign in box. It was carefully sprayed and inspected for any remaining
wasps.

Don Holt had brought a new paper pad and left it. We installed the new pad
with drilled holes and mounted that in the registry. It is up and running in
good order.

Chris climbed to two owl roosting boxes for cleaning and repair. He replaced
the door that was hanging by one nail at the box near the trash dumpster at the
gate. New screws were installed and wood chips were placed about an inch deep.

At the second owl boxes further down in the campground between two camps on the
fenceline, Chris cleaned out old nesting material from this past spring. Owls
do not put nesting material in boxes so it was probably the work of starlings.
Chris put a new floor full of wood chips in the box.

The birder sign in box at the campground is a project provided for campground
owner Mae Musick and birders by the Bristol Bird Club. The BBC built and
erected the sign in box in Sept. 1997 and we have maintained records there for
seven years. We would appreciate your continued and careful dedication to
fully honoring this sign in system.

Let's go birding....
