Tom McNeil was quick with hand and camera as the beautiful Bald Eagle was observed flying low over the Bristol Bird Club 60th Picnic, Saturday afternoon at Steele Creek Park in Bristol. Jennifer Kennedy first spotted the bird and it created real thrills. At the left, birder Rick Knight studies the bird to confirm that it was, in fact, a Bald Eagle. Steele Creek Park assistant naturalist Larry McDaniel called in Knight to confirm the ID for the park records :-) Knight confirmed it was the first eagle he had observed at Steele Creek Park. What a great bird for a BBC picnic! Thanks to Tom McNeil for taking this neat photo of the eagle and sharing it with Bristol-Birders Net. Let's go birding . . . . Wallace Coffey Bristol, TN
