Two young Bald Eagles hatched in the eastern Sullivan
County, TN nest upstream from Bluff City on the
South Fork Holston River along Riverside Rd., fledged
Saturday, 6 June 2015. Bob Cheers telephoned Sunday
to report he had seen the eaglets away from the nest
and they were gone from the nest tree. However, by
nightfall they had managed to return to the nest to
roost. This is the third year the nest has been used
and it was the first nest of the species known in
Northeast Tennessee the year it was built and
occupied.
