Wallace, I recieved a note from Tony Decker (Marion)which said he had seen Least, Stilt and Solitary Sandpipers and a Greater Yellowlegs at Rural Retreat Lake on the 18th of Aug. I stopped by the Lake on Sun. Aug. 25th and found 3 Least, 4 Solitary, 2 Pectoral and 3 Semi-palmated Sandpipers. The lake is dropping a little each day now and shorebird habitat is improving greatly. I had 2 Great Egrets and Bank, Rough-winged, Tree and Barn Swallows on the New River just north of Fries, VA yesterday the 26th.
