Rick Phillips set to speak for BBC, Fri., Sept. 24, 6 p.m., Banquet Rick Phillips, a member of the biology faculty of East Tennessee State University, will be the speaker when members gather for the club's annual banquet. Rick is a former U. S. Forest Service Research Biologist who studied birds in the western NC mountains while stationed at Clemson University. He teaches Biology at the ETSU Kingsport University Center. He is not only a talented birder but also a former raptor trapper and bander in Northeast Tennessee. His talent as nature photographer is well recognized as one of the region's very best. He literally submitted thousands of bird photos for Rick Knight's 2nd edition Birds of Northeast Tennessee. The banquet is open to all birders and their guests from across the region. This year's banquet will again be hosted by the good ladies of the Addilyn Memorial United Methodist Church in Bristol, TN. The church is located just two blocks off the Volunteer Parkway and one mile north of the Mad Greek Restaurant. This is going to be one or our more enjoyable banquet programs.
